Telltale Signs Your Carpet Needs Replacing
Industrial, commercial and retail-quality carpet tiles will last a long time if properly taken care of. However, the exact length of time they will survive will depend considerably on how much foot traffic will wear and grind on it, the type of carpet pile you choose and the materials they have been made from.
The typical lifespan of a commercial carpet is around seven years (at Carpet Tile Solutions we offer a ten year wear guarantee), but a well-chosen, carefully cared for carpet can last far longer than this.
The benefit of choosing a tiled carpet rather than a roll is that you can replace individual tiles as and when they wear out, saving you money in the long run.
Here are some telltale signs that it is time to replace your carpet.
Visible Traffic Patterns
Typically, commercial carpets are chosen because they are hard-wearing, and certain patterns and piles are very effective at hiding the constant footfall, muddy footprints and scuffs that appear on busy patches of carpet. If you start finding that there’s more wear on specific parts of your carpet, especially the entrances, exits, near bathrooms and break rooms, it may be time to start replacing the carpet.
Hard To Remove Stains Or Faded Colour
Depending on whether you have a dark or light coloured carpet, you may face one of these issues more than the other. Carpet stains are often easily removed with dedicated cleaning equipment, care and attention, but if they start becoming an eyesore, accumulating or seem to be difficult to remove without damaging the pile, that is usually a sign that the carpet has worn out. Whilst stains are less of an issue for darker carpets, they have the issue of colour fading, which in some cases is the result of sun bleaching but in others is simply a case of age wearing the dye out.
Cushioned Back Carpet Tiles
We offer cushioned back carpet tiles which can extend the life of carpet tiles further while also offering increased comfort and sound absorption.
